Cicadas produce their incessant songs by beating their tymbals (membranes in their chest) at 120 beats per second. To our ear, this sounds as white noise.

Composed exclusively with sounds from the Barbara and Orni Mediterranean cicadas, we reduced their beat to 120 bpm and unveiled the kick, drum and bass for all the songs in this album.
