about
Bernie Krause is the musician and sound ecologist who first proposed the theory of the Acoustic Niches. He described the organization of the great animal orchestra: every different species sharing an ecosystem communicate by using different sound frequencies and patterns (acoustice niches), in order to distribute the acoustic space fairly. Thus, they don't overshadow or silent each others' songs.
Because Krause's work greatly inspired our project, we pay tribute in this Balearic biophony: we reduced the speed reproduction of our real recording, in order to emulate not an orchestra but a rave of sound and rhythm.

Can't help it, I'm hooked to the bone to this funky munky. The more I listen to it- read about it- & watch it, the better it gets. Where will this end? I'm a junky, in desperate need of every shot I can get of this stuff. This link will show you a mini-docu which gives a great inside of who he is and what he does. Enjoy!
